Strategic Partnership with India
The Prime Minister and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh issued a joint statement in New Delhi on 12 November that included agreement to upgrade relations between the two countries to the level of a "Strategic Partnership".
As part of the Strategic Partnership, Australia and India issued a Joint Declaration on Security Cooperation.
